Toloka Contributor Terms and Conditions
Effective date: 2 September 2026. These Contributor Terms govern your use of Toloka’s contributor workspace, task marketplace, evaluation tools, communications, and related services. They form an agreement between you and Toloka. Read them carefully before accepting.
1. Eligibility and account integrity
You represent that you are at least eighteen years old, can enter this agreement in your jurisdiction, and will provide complete, current, and accurate registration details. You may maintain only one personal contributor account. Your account, credentials, invitations, task access, and payment details are personal to you and may not be sold, assigned, shared, rented, automated, or used on behalf of another person.
2. Independent contributor relationship
Toloka makes opportunities available to independent contributors. Nothing in these Terms creates employment, agency, partnership, exclusivity, or a guarantee of assignments, income, minimum hours, benefits, or continued platform access. You control when you work, but you must meet the stated quality, confidentiality, timing, and eligibility requirements for any work you choose to submit.
3. Task standards and truthful work
You will complete tasks yourself, follow task-specific instructions, and submit work that is honest, original, and based on your genuine judgement. You will not use undisclosed automation, copied answers, answer-sharing groups, misleading location tools, fabricated evidence, prohibited third-party data, or any method intended to manipulate quality checks, timing controls, assessments, or compensation. Toloka may review, reject, re-score, or remove work that does not meet these standards.
4. Confidential information and data handling
Tasks may include non-public prompts, media, model outputs, research materials, personal information, or customer content. You must keep all such material confidential, use it only to perform the applicable task, and not download, reproduce, publish, discuss, train other systems on, or disclose it unless Toloka expressly permits this in writing. You must use a reasonably secure device and network, promptly report a suspected compromise, and delete task material when instructed.
5. Acceptable use and safety
You may not use the service to break the law, infringe intellectual-property rights, violate privacy, harass others, evade sanctions or export restrictions, introduce malware, probe security controls, scrape the service, create false identities, or interfere with platform operation. Toloka may restrict access where it reasonably believes continued access could create a safety, legal, integrity, or security risk.
6. Compensation, reviews, and taxes
Compensation is described per approved opportunity and may depend on successful review, quality thresholds, eligibility, and available program capacity. Displayed estimates are not promises. Toloka may withhold, adjust, reverse, or decline payment for duplicated, invalid, fraudulent, incomplete, non-compliant, or rejected work, subject to applicable law. You are responsible for your own taxes, reporting obligations, equipment, connectivity, insurance, and other costs associated with independent work.
7. Intellectual property
To the extent permitted by law, you assign to Toloka all rights, title, and interest in work product, annotations, feedback, outputs, and related materials you create for a task upon creation. Where assignment is not available, you grant Toloka a perpetual, worldwide, transferable, sublicensable, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and create derivative works from that material for any lawful purpose connected to its services.
8. Privacy and communications
Toloka uses registration, profile, device, task, quality, and payment information to operate the platform, prevent fraud, match opportunities, process requests, communicate with you, and meet legal obligations. You may opt out of non-essential opportunity updates through account communications controls. Operational, security, and legal notices may still be sent where permitted. Do not submit unnecessary sensitive personal information in task responses.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time. Toloka may suspend or terminate access, remove assignments, or investigate activity where it detects a breach of these Terms, a quality or security concern, legal risk, misuse, or an inaccurate profile. Clauses concerning confidentiality, intellectual property, payments, dispute resolution, and limitations that should survive termination will continue to apply.
10. Disclaimers, liability, and changes
The service is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Toloka does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free tasks, specific outcomes, or the availability of particular opportunities. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Toloka’s aggregate liability relating to the service is limited to amounts paid to you for approved work in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Toloka may update these Terms for operational, legal, or security reasons; material changes will be presented through the service or another reasonable notice channel. Continued use after an effective update means you accept the revised Terms where lawful.
11. Contact and governing requirements
If you have a question, concern, or request about these Terms, contact Toloka through the support channel made available in the service. Local consumer, employment, privacy, tax, and mandatory legal rights may apply and are not limited where they cannot lawfully be limited. This template should be reviewed by qualified counsel before production use in every target jurisdiction.
